Q&A about Anti-Aging
Does Anti-Pigment Fluid also help with existing pigment problems?
Eucerin® Anti-Pigment Fluid is effective in fighting pigment problems that have emerged as a result of increased melanin production. These include pregnancy spots (melasma), hyperpigmentations such as acne or skin impurities, freckles (ephelides), as well as pigment problems caused by taking birth control pills. Comprehensive dermatological and clinical studies prove Eucerin® Anti- Pigment Fluid's effectiveness against freckles and melasma.
Proven to inhibit both the formation of melanin and the distribution of melanin in the skin, dioic acid is obtained bio-technologically from oleic acid, a naturally occurring fatty acid. Eucerin® Anti- Pigment Fluid combines dioic acid with a highly effective UVA and UVB sun protection system (SPF 20). This optimal combination of ingredients meets both your daily moisturizing needs and helps fight against unwanted pigmentation.
Treatment should begin in early Winter or Spring to make sure melanin production cannot even begin. Daily use helps ensure existing pigment spots do not get darker. When it comes to freckles, make sure you start using daily before the ?sunny season' even starts. If you plan on getting some intense sun exposure, apply a sunscreen (We recommend Eucerin® Ultra Protection Cream 50+).
Expect initial visible improvements after about four to eight weeks. With routine use even in the winter months - your skin should become less pigmented.
Obviously, no immediate and complete depigmentation can be expected from a cosmetic product. Its effect also depends on the skin depth at which the pigmentations are formed and the composition of the pigment. For so-called "age spots" that are particularly deep and have been present for decades, additional medical treatment from a dermatologist may be necessary (laser, peeling, etc.).
